Overview and Description

Four-hour tour in the Arequipa Region, belonging to the national reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, up to an altitude of 4100m above sea level named Salinas’s lagoon.

This name is due to the accumulation of Borax in its water. In this tour, it’s possible to watch flamingos, and to see extraction of borax. You can see also a stagnation of water in natural form surrounded by the Ubinas volcano and the snow-capped Pichu Pichu.

In the way of visiting this lagoon, we pass by the colonial town of Chiguata, observing one of the best views of the Misti volcano and, after a 4 hour-tour in 4x4 car, we arrive to this lagoon and you can watch different kinds of birds, Andean ducks, ibis, flamencos, etc…

Of course you can see also llamas, alpacas and some of the country communities of the high areas.

The time of this tour is all day, you can only go by 4x4 car.
