                          | salkantay is a snow-capped mountain 6372 meters of altitude with a  presence of perpetual ice. | 
                        
                          | day 01: from cusco to mollepata (2985 meters of  altitide) and soraypampa (4200 meters of  altitude) | 
                        
                          | we will begin our  trip to salkantay very early by car to the apurimac river valley until we arrive  at mollepata; from here we will begin our trek to the rio blanco valley and  arrive at soraypampa, where we will spend the night.                               trekking hours:  approximately 07 hours. | 
                        
                          | day 02: from soraypampa to paso humantay (4800  meters  of altitude) and challhuay (3900  meters) | 
                        
                          | after breakfast we  will ascend until the humantay trail where we can observe the salkantay,  lagoons and the santa teresa valley. our descent will be to challhuya, where we  will camp.                               trekking hours:  approximately 08 hours. | 
                        
                          | day 03: from challhuay to santa teresa (1600  meters of altitude) | 
                        
                          | after our breakfast  we will begin out descent to the village of santa teresa which is located on  the banks of the vilcanota river; here we will spend the night, the  accommodation can be in tents or basic accommodation.                               trekking time:  approximately 6 hours. | 
                        
                          | day 04: from santa teresa to aguas calientes. | 
                        
                          | we will continue  our trekking to the vilcanota river valley, and then later to a place called  the hydro electrics of machupicchu; in the evening at 4:00pm we will take the  train to the town of aguas calientes. where we will spend the night in basic hotel. in the evening we will  be able to visit the thermal baths.                               trekking time:  approximately 5 hours. | 
                        
                          | day 05: from aguas calientes to machupicchu and  cusco. | 
                        
                          | finally we will go  leave aguas calientes to visit the sanctuary of machupicchu, we will be with  the guide for approximately two hours, and you are able to add two more hours  to see the site thoroughly. we will then return to aguas calientes and from  here take train to cusco. |
