We pick you up from your hotel 7 am, then we drive by private car to salinas lagoon; This lagoon is at 4300 meters high, is between the volcanoes: Misti, Ubinas and Pichu Pichu. the salinas lagoon in the aguada blanca and salinas national reserve. during the last few years the ubinas volcano has moderately erupted.

All year we can see vicuñas (a species of south american camel) and on some occasions llamas and alpacas. also we can observe the vizcacha (andean rabbit) and if you are lucky you can sometimes see the andean foxes. Also we can see a plant that only grows at 4000 meters of altitude or more, its name is yareta. (azorella compacta).

Here we can see the three different species of flamingos, you can see only in this lagoon and not in any other part of the world. to be more specific this doesn’t occur in the ´flamingos lake’ it is more famous than africa, (nakuru and naivasha, in kenya) and here you can only observe the two species.

the 3 species that exist in the salinas lagoon are:

• phoenicopteras chilensis (chilin flamingo)
  
• phoenicoparras andinas (large andean parihuana)
  
• phoenicoparras jamesi (andean girl - parihuana)
  

Then we will visit the salt town of tambos where we will be able to observe the development of salt.

During the tour we can cross the lagoon with the 4x4 and make treks around the lake.
