We leave at 7:00 in the morning from their respective hotels in a private car, after 2 hours travel, we’ll visit the national reserve of Aguada Blanca y Salinas, here we’ll stop to look at the wild vicuñas, explanation of flora and fauna of this reserve. Then we’ll stop to enjoy and drink an infusion of coca tea.

 Continuing with the trip we’ll visit the viewpoint of the Andes located at 4850 meters high. This is where we can see the Andes and the volcanic belt which is the alignment of more than 7 active volcanoes and some other extinct, mountains of importance as where the mummy was discovered,” Juanita”, and the Nevado Mismi location the origin of the Amazon River.
 
After looking at these volcanoes and the Andes down to our car to the town of Chivay located 3600 m.a s. l. Lunch.
In the afternoon we continue with the visit of Colca Canyon, is important to inform you that inside the classics and normal tours we’ll visit the Colca Canyon in the morning, we'll get it done in the afternoon because there are fewer tourists . Remember that the Colca Valley is impressive by the viewpoints. The sunset in the valley of the Andes is excellent to take photos. That's why we’ll make stops in the viewpoints of Antahuilque and choquetico, and of course in other natural viewpoints. We’ll also visit a sort of hanging tombs, a ceremonial stone that resembles a model of the terraces of the Colca Valley. on this day we do 2 hours trek in the valley..

TREK TO THE EDGE OF THE COLCA CANYON WITH MAGNIFICENT NATURAL VIEWPOINTS
Difficulty: Easy +
Almost flat hike between 3,700-3,750 meters above sea level.
Trail type: Trail in good condition.
Trekking time: One hour

We arrive at canyon and we start the trek . During then trek we can choose the best places to observe the condors' flight.
we will walk along the edge of the Colca Canyon, visiting natural viewpoints and also seeing some condors.

THE CONDOR CROSS
¡WELCOME TO THE COLCA CANYON¡ Upon reaching the Condor Cross, we immediately realize we've reached the beginning of the famous geological formation: The Colca Canyon.
From this point on, we leave the Colca Valley behind and enjoy the enormous mountains of the Andes that form the Colca Canyon.

if we have luke we can see how condor return to their nests. (without tourists). don´t worry , you will visit the condor cross for second time the next day in the morning.

Before arrive to Cabanaconde village we will stop at the Tapay viewpoint to see the village inside the colca canyon then ,

COLCA SUNSET TREK

Difficulty: Easy +, but the small stones at the beginning of the trail can make it slightly more difficult.
Downhill hike from 3,600 meters above sea level to 3,287 meters above sea level
Trekking duration: One hour
Trail type: Only at the beginning, the path is stony and a bit slippery (due to the small stones, this takes about 10 minutes). However, afterward, the path is wide with some stone steps; much of the trail is in good condition.
We walk amidst pre-Inca terraces, pure nature. Along the way, we observe local residents going about their daily activities, accompanied by a beautiful view of the Andes mountain range that forms the Colca Canyon.
During the trek, we can observe the Andean sunset without tourists.
At the end of the hike, we arrive at San Miguel and continue with our transportation to Cabanaconde.
This trek is highly recommended by our clients.

Comments.-The treks are optionals, if you prefer you can stay in the transport with the driver , you can take more pictures and at the end of the treks the driver pick up the rest of customers.

Night in a hotel in Cabanaconde.

Getting to Cabanaconde (Colca Canyon) we’ll stay in a confortable hotel, and having dinner in a restaurant.

Breakfast ,7 am, we start the trek into the Colca Canyon for 3 hours walking to San Juan de Chuccho village ,trekking down from 3300 mhsl to 2200mhsl, then we’ll continue the trek 3 hours (trek uphill,downhill and flat) towards the oasis, here we enjoy the swimming pool. We spend the night in bambu cabins.

 Important:

During the trek into Canyon we’ll visit San Juan de Chuccho, Malata and Coshñirhua village.

We trek uphill from 2100mhsl to Cabanaconde 3300mhsl at 4:30 in the morning and after 3-4 hours trekking we arrive to Cabanaconde . Then we have breakfast. Then we continue for 25 minutes by bus towards the condor cross to try to see the flight of the condor. Then we continue towards Chivay town to bathe in the hot springs of 38ºC .Then lunch. We continue towards Arequipa city to get there at 5 pm.

LODGES INSIDE THE COLCA CANYON Lately, the lodges inside the canyon have improved their services. Before, they offered basic services; now they offer much better service.
The lodges offer hot water , they use solar panel and after use the first customer there are not so much hot water , that is the reason that we can`t offer you hot water on the showers. If you have luck yes you can find hot water but if not will not our responsibility , We work with the best accomodations.

ELECTRICITY
Currently, all the towns within the canyon, including the Sangalle oasis, have electricity; all the lodges have electrical outlets in the rooms.

ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM WITH PRIVATE SHOWER
We are now including private rooms with private bathrooms and showers on our treks. This upgrades our service.
That's why we recommend booking our treks months in advance to have rooms with these features.

ATM
Inside the canyon or in Cabanaconde there are not ATM`s, please carry cash.

For extra cost : During the trek we can include one mule that Carry 8 kilos per each customer during the trek inside the Canyon.

If you like to ride on the mule: we don`t recommend it because there was some accidents. Normally people ride on the mules the last day of the Colca trek from the        bottom (Oasis )   of the canyon to Cabanaconde.

If some of our customers decide to do it we are not responsible for future accidents and remember this is extra cost, this service is not included on our treks.

We can include for extra cost just the mule that carry your personal things during the Colca trek (8 kilos per each customer)

BAGS FOR THE MULE.- And remember we provide on the treks bags to transport your personal things  ( 8 kilos per person) like that you need during the trek just a day bag to carry your sunblock, bottle of water, camera etc.
