we will leave very early from arequipa and we will head to the town of chivay (4 hours by car) we pass for the famous lockout (patapampa) situated at 4850 m.h.s.l. then we will visit the colca valley the route called “right hand side” by bike visiting the colonial towns normally unvisited on the traditional routes such as: coporaque village (the main square and the front church), ichupampa village and the village of lari, whose church is considered to be the most important in the colca valley by his enormous buttresses. then we cross by car to “left hand side” to visit tourist places such as the lookout point of antahuilque, the lookout point of condor cross, the lookout point of tapay , if we have time we can biking from tapay view point to cabanaconde village ( from 3700 m. to 3300 m.) or to do an interesting trek from the cure view point to the mirador of the condor cross: in the afternoon without tourist, (45 min. trek). on this trek there are two excellent view point of the colca canyon.
and we will arrive at the town of cabanaconde where we will have dinner and spend the night.
the distance by bike is 45 kilometers.
this day we can change the program and to do a downhill from lockout of patapampa 4850 m. to chivay village 3600 m.h.s.l. ( asphalted with tourists car or local bus on the route) and then continue to cabanaconde village. and also we can do a short part of the colca valley mountain bike. |
